The Specialized Secondary Music School-Lyceum
Attached to the Novosibirsk State
Conservatoire (Academy) named after M.I.Glinka
The school was founded in 1970. About 170 gifted
young musicians not only from Novosibirsk, but also from other
regions and republics of Russia and foreign countries are trained
here.
The names of its pupils – the winners of
international and all-Russia competitions – are known in many
countries. They are Vadim Repin, Anton Barakhovsky, Maxim Vengerov,
Natalia Prishepenko, Ilya Konovalov, Alexander Trostyansky
(violin); Maria Mitina, Natalia Taldykina, Tatyana Abramova, Ilya
Rashkovsky, Polina Kondratkova, Tatyana Chernichka (piano);
Alexander Neustroev, Stanislav Yankovsky (clarinet); Stanislav
Makarov (trumpet); Michael Zhuravlev (oboe); Roman Leontiev,
Alexander Marchakovsky (balalaika); Roman Zhbanov (bayan) and
others.
Excited audience applauded them in great concert
halls of Russia, Italy, Germany, the USA, Japan, Great Britain,
France, Switzerland, Brazil and other countries of Europe, Asia
and America. Only since 1990 the students of the Specialized
Secondary Music School have become laureates and awarded
diplomas of international competitions 100 times, 34 times they have been
among the winners of All-Russia creative contests, 170 times - won
in regional competitions.
The teachers’ talent and creative activity is
the basis for the students achievements. From the very beginning
the professors and teachers of the Novosibirsk Conservatoire and
the Music College as well as the musicians of the Novosibirsk
Academic Symphony Orchestra and of the Academic Folk Instruments
Orchestra teach children at our school. The Organization of the
Youth Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Vladislav Yankovsky,
Honoured Artist of Russia, became an outstanding event in
Novosibirsk in 1996. This Orchestra is attached to the “Young
Gifts of Siberia” Foundation.
